Gift-giving to the Blind (LY 2017-2018)
It has become an annual activity of Baguio City Host Lions Club to provide some assistance to visually-impaired indigents in the city during Lions Worldwide Week of Service in Sight every October.
For this year’s Lions Worldwide Week of Service in Sight, BCHLC donated basic goods to the visually-impaired massage therapists and other blind indigents of FOBVIP Massage Center, Star Massage, and the PWD Center at the Baguio Cathedral grounds to help tide things over for them during the lean season.

Baguio City Health Fair 2017Baguio City Host Lions Club joined the City Government of Baguio and other civic groups in providing services to the public during the Baguio City Health Fair, held at the Baguio Convention Center, in celebration of Baguio City's Charter Anniversary. BCHLC distributed recycled eyeglass frames.

Lions Eyeglass Bank Mobile Clinic (LY 2017-2018)BCHLC sponsored the Lions Eyeglass Bank Mobile Clinic of District 301-D2 in providing brand new eyeglasses to 80 patients in Barangay Cares, Pugo, La Union.

BCHLC Eyeglass Distribution (LY 2017-2018)
Baguio City Host Lions Club distributed recycled eyeglass frames, reading glasses and sunglasses to thousands of recipients this Lion Year 2017-2018. These recycled eyeglasses are courtesy of our twin club East Kauai Lions Club and the rest of District 50 Hawaii, through the efforts of PDG Roy Nishida, Lion Alice Kudo, PP John Ochoco, and many others in Hawaii.
Lions Eyeglass Bank Mobile Clinic in Pugo, La Union (LY 2016-2017)
Baguio City Host Lions Club, in cooperation with Pasig Host Lions Club of District 301-D2, through Grant Administrator PDG George Ong Tan, 12PMJF, brought its Lions Eyeglass Bank Mobile Clinic to Pugo, La Union, as part of a multi-disciplinary outreach program with Baguio Everlasting Lions Club and Baguio Chrysanthemum Lions Club, which included vision screenings, distribution of eyeglasses, dental services, blood sugar tests, medical examinations, provision of medicines and promotion of child literacy. The project was facilitated by PDG Peter Go, 3PMJF, of Baguio City Host Lions Club.
The Lions Eyeglass Bank Mobile Clinic dispensed 60 brand new pairs of eyeglasses, while Baguio City Host Lions Club distributed 448 recycled eyeglasses and 138 recycled sunglasses to the community. Baguio Chrysanthemum Lions Club held diabetes screenings, while Baguio Everlasting Lions Club spearheaded the ophthalmological examinations, dental services and child literacy promotion.
Baguio City Host Lions Club and Baguio Everlasting Lions Club also pooled their resources to stage a medical mission at the Pugo Covered Court, examining over 500 patients, and providing them with the proper medicine, as needed. The Lions are grateful to Dr. Flordelis Claridad Balatian, Dr. Jennifer Balatian and the interns from St. Louis University for taking time out in their busy schedules to take part in the medical mission.
Baguio City Host Lions Club also turned over boxes of medicines and multivitamins to the Rural Health Unit of Pugo, La Union.

Eyeglass Distribution - Barangay Pinget, Baguio City
During the Lions Worldwide Week of Service to Fight Hunger in January, we returned to Pinget Elementary School to sponsor a healthy lunch for 50 school children. We also provide free eyeglasses to the community. 120 reading glasses, 80 eyeglass frames and 100 sunglasses were distributed to the residents of Pinget. This service activity was also covered by local media.
Lions Bring Aid to the Visually-Impaired (LY 2016-2017)
For the Lions Worldwide Week of Service in Sight (October 10-16), we visited our visually-impaired massage-therapist friends at Star Massage at the Maharlika Rooftop and FOBVIP Massage Center along Harrison Road, Baguio City, to provide them with basic commodities such as rice, coffee, milk, sugar and food packs to help tide them over during the lean season. This is an annual club project.
Eyeglass Distribution - Senior CitizensFor the Sight Month of October, Baguio City Host Lions Club distributed free eyeglasses to 225 individuals during the Filipino Elderly Octoberfest 2016 Medical Mission for Senior Citizens held at the Baguio Convention Center.

Eyeglass Distribution - Private Road MagsaysayBCHLC dispensed eyeglass frames and sunglasses to the residents of Private Road-Magsaysay in Baguio City. The eyeglasses are from our twin club East Kauai Lions Club and District 50 Hawaii.

Donation of Welding Glasses to TESDA
Baguio City Host Lions Club donated dark welding glasses to the students of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Training Center in Loakan Road, Baguio City.
The recycled glasses were provided by BCHLC's twin club East Kauai Lions Club and other Lions Clubs in District 50 Hawaii.

Donation of Sunglasses to Baguio PolicemenBaguio City Host Lions Club donated 55 pairs of sunglasses to the Baguio City Police Mobile Patrol Unit and the Baguio City Police Traffic Enforcers.

Reading Glasses for BHW's and BNS's of BaguioBCHLC distributed reading glasses to Baguio's barangay health workers and barangay nutrition scholars at the Baguio City Host Lions Clubhouse.

Optical Mission and Other Outreach Programs - Pinsao Proper, Baguio City
BCHLC held free vision screenings and distributed reading glasses and eyeglass frames in Pinsao Proper. We also conducted a feeding program for the day care pupils of Pinsao Proper. In addition, we distributed rubber slippers, activity books, toothbrush and toothpaste to the school children. Also, in anticipation of World Diabetes Day on November 14, the club conducted diabetes screenings on the barangay's residents.
Optical Mission - Benguet Provincial Jail
To mark our 64th Charter Anniversary on November 21, 2014, Baguio City Host Lions Club held an outreach program at the Benguet Provincial Jail in La Trinidad, Benguet. We conducted vision screenings to the jail officials and pre-screened inmates, providing them with reading glasses courtesy of our twin club East Kauai Lions Club in District 50 Hawaii. We also donated 200 pairs of rubber slippers and some refreshments to BPJ.
