Long-term Feeding Program - Lindawan National High School (LY 2017-2018)
On January 23, 2018, Baguio City Host Lions Club, together with Lindawan National High School officials, held the launching of a daily 9-week feeding program for 22 wasted Lindawan National High School students in the 7th and 8th grades.
This is the first time BCHLC has sponsored a medium-term feeding program for high school students.
During the launching program, BCHLC also turned over rechargeable flashlights and emergency lights, courtesy of PDG Roger Dy, to the school. The BCH Lions also distributed recycled eyeglasses, courtesy of our twin club East Kauai Lions Club and District 50 Hawaii to Barangay Lucnab, where Lindawan National High School is located.
Sometime in February, Baguio City Host Lions Club turned over to the school officials multivitamins for the feeding program beneficiaries. The multivitamins were provided by our new twin club Maharlika Lions Club of Sacramento, California.

As part of the Lions Worldwide Week of Service to Fight Hunger, Baguio City Host Lions Club and Pinget Elementary School, on January 09 2018, held the formal launching of a 50-day daily feeding program at the school for 23 undernourished grade 1 pupils. This is the second consecutive school year BCHLC is sponsoring a long-term feeding program at Pinget Elementary School.
On February 20, BCHLC turned over to the school nurse and school principal multivitamins and other medicines for the 23 feeding program recipients. These medicines were provided by BCHLC’s twin club Maharlika Lions Club of Sacramento, California.

Lions Worldwide Week of Service to Fight Hunger (LY 2016-2017)
Earlier in LY2016-2017, Baguio City Host Lions Club sponsored a 10-week feeding program for selected undernourished children at Pinget Elementary School. During the Lions Worldwide Week of Service to Fight Hunger (January 9 -15, 2017), we returned to the school to sponsor a healthy lunch for 50 school children. The lunch was prepared by BCHLC, the children’s parents and teachers.

Baguio City Host Lions Club is dedicated to fulfilling Lions Clubs International’s goal of relieving hunger, one of its four Centennial Service Challenge Campaigns, supplying underfed school children with healthy food, enabling them to stay in school and focus on their education.
For Lion Year 2016-2017, BCHLC sponsored a 50-day feeding program for 23 selected pupils from Pinget Elementary School. The meals were prepared daily by the children’s parents and teachers.
In addition to relieving hunger, the Lions also took the opportunity to promote reading and child literacy. The launching of the feeding program also included a read-along, and the Lions distributed activity books and story books to the children.

Long-term Feeding Program - Kias Elementary School (LY 2015-2016)
For the second school year in a row, Baguio City Host Lions Club has sponsored a long-term feeding program for the most undernourished children of Kias Elementary School, Baguio City. This is part of LCI’s centennial service challenge to address the needs of hungry children, providing access to healthier food which the children need to focus on their education.
Twenty children were provided with healthful meals for 10 weeks. This project was a great success due to the collaboration of BCHLC and the parents and teachers of Kias Elementary School who prepared the food daily.

Long-term Feeding Program - Doña Aurora H. Bueno Elementary School (LY 2015-2016)
When school officials of Doña Aurora H. Bueno Elementary School requested the club to sponsor a long-term feeding program for fifteen pre-selected undernourished school children, the club willingly stepped up to the plate. The feeding program was held on a daily basis for 9 weeks.
BCHLC and Doña Aurora H. Bueno Elementary School held a formal launching program of the feeding program, just in time for Lions Worldwide Week of Service to Fight Hunger and Poverty (January 10-16). The launching on January 13 included the distribution of activity books to 30 children in the First Grade.
